The Sussex European Institute (SEI) was delighted to welcome back the very first cohort of students, who graduated back in 1993, for a reunion on the weekend of the 9 and 10 June 2018.
A group of fifteen students, who travelled from the UK, Malta, Denmark, the United States and France to attend the reunion, met for lunch in the original seminar room in which their MA had been taught.
Current SEI director Professor Paul Taggart gave a talk about the development of SEI in the intervening 25 years and there was a discussion about the state of European studies, European integration and, inevitably, Brexit and its implications for SEI and the EU.
The former students then toured a very much changed campus here at the University of Sussex, before meeting for dinner in central Brighton.
