Student and Academic Services provides a range of support services, both directly to students and also to colleagues in Schools and Departments. Our services include:
- admissions
- student progress & assessments
- student career development, employability and jobs
- a range of personal and special needs support services for students
- central support and coordination for academic developments and external partnerships
- developing student-related IT facilities and teaching timetabling
- student records (current and past), transcripts, certificates and management information
- student appeals and complaints
Another aspect of its role is to ensure that we have good and up-to-date feedback from students about their experience at Sussex, to which the University can respond, and to be the main point of liaison with the students' union (USSU). We also manage the University's links with external bodies such as: UCAS, Local Education Authorities, Student Loan Company, Higher Education Statistics Agency and Training and Development Agency. We seek to deliver services in an efficient, helpful and accessible way and we welcome constructive feedback on our performance.
