Staff Welfare Officer
The Staff Welfare Officer, Richard Price, is available to provide confidential advice and assistance to members of staff who may find this useful, on matters relating to employment or personal problems. Where appropriate, he may also help staff in obtaining information or assistance relating to problems outside the workplace, such as debt, legal difficulties or access to benefits.

Human Resources
HR is subdivided into two sections:
- The Personnel team deals with all aspects of employment, providing professional advice on employment issues and administrative support for employment processes.
- Payroll and Pensions. Monthly paid staff are paid by bank credit transfer in arrears, on the last working day of the month. Payments through the irregular payroll are made by bank credit transfer on Fridays. This office also deals with the following Pension Schemes:
- Universities Pensions Scheme (USS)
- University of Sussex Pension and Assurance Scheme (USPAS)
- Sussex Group Stakeholder Scheme (SGSS)
