Course description
Course outline
The student will read a review article published in the previous year in the journal Behavioural and Brain Sciences, and write a commentary on the article with the same specifications as a commentary in the journal. A choice of possible articles is provided. There is no formal teaching on the course, but a plan of the structure of the commentary can be shown to the student’s Personal Tutor.
Learning outcomes
By the end of the course a successful student should be able to:
1. write a cogent and concise report on some aspect of psychology;
2. Draw on a variety of evidence to assess complex issues;
3. evaluate the most important strengths, weaknesses, or implications of a recent theory in psychology;
4. work independently in searching for relevant literature.
