Psychology finalist wins National Student Survey cash prize

Suniya, the prize draw winner

A lucky Sussex student is planning a summer of travel after winning hundreds of pounds in an NSS prize draw.

Suniya Sarwar is the final-year undergraduate whose name was drawn as the winner of a £750 NSS cash prize. The draw was open between 7 January and 28 February to eligible finalists who opted in when completing the National Student Survey online.

Suniya, who studies Psychology, said: “I never usually win anything, so I’m really excited to have won the prize money! I’m going to give some to charity and use the rest to travel this summer.”

If you are in the final year of your undergraduate course and haven’t filled in the NSS yet, there are a few weeks left to have your say. The survey closes at midnight on Tuesday 30 April.

The NSS is an important way to reflect on your whole time at Sussex and share your experiences of studying here.

Every eligible student who completes the survey online at can claim a £5 SussexFood voucher or printing credit as a thank you.

Make sure to get yours by showing your survey confirmation email to staff at either your school office or the Info Hub in the Library. Vouchers can be claimed until the end of Friday 10 May.

If you visit your school office to claim your voucher, you will also find a locally and ethically-made Montezuma’s chocolate bar available instead of the free hot drink offered at the NSS café throughout February and March.
