British Feeding and Drinking Group annual meeting

The 36th Annual Meeting of the British Feeding and Drinking Group (BFDG) was held in Brighton on March 29th & 30th 2012.

BFDG is an annual multi-disciplinary gathering of scientists whose research examines some aspect of eating or drinking.  The meeting attracts a diverse audience of scientists, including those working in psychology, physiology, nutrition, food science, dietetics and related disciplines. BFDG has grown over the years, with typically 80-100 attendees sharing their recent work over a friendly two-day meeting.  BFDG has traditionally been an ideal place for postgraduate researchers to present their work in particular and we have managed to secure funding for bursaries to help attract such speakers.

This was the fourth time BFDG has been organised by the University of Sussex and was held at the Holiday Inn Brighton, with a record 140 registered delegates.

The meeting was very well received, with 2 excellent keynote speakers, 43 oral presentations and 42 posters.
