Biography

I previosuly worked for 15 years in IT (11 at Microsoft). Towards the end of my time at Microsoft, I became interested in personal development and what makes people tick leading to me leaving IT to study psychology. I did my BSc with the Open University and my MSc with Kingston University. My MSc dissertation allowed me to link my interest in technology with my studies in psychology by examining whether personality affects the strategies people use when dealing with incoming email. My PhD follows this theme in that I will be researching how cyber incivilioty is experienced through the medium of enterprise social network platforms (e.g. Slack, MS Teams) and how this impacts the future of work. This research is part of the Future of Work Hub research portfolio and is in partnership with the Roffey Park Institute.
