As a PhD student in Infectious Disease Modelling, I am also fond of spatial epidemiology with a specific interest in developing countries, parasitic diseases, and vector-borne diseases. I began working on geostatistics during my bachelor degree’s internship in Limoges (France) studying Spatial distribution of Toxoplasmosis. Since then, I constantly seek projects involving geospatial or remote sensing data analyses. I did a Master of Public Health and got an internship at the Pasteur Institute in Cambodia. The project focused on risk-mapping for leptospirosis. I used remote sensing data to create a flooding indicator that could help target interventions. I then worked there on ECOMORE project that aimed to document and model the progression of epidemics along roads, using dengue as a proxy. I am now studying the spatial and temporal transmission of the Chagas Disease using Machine Learning Methods and a set of environmental and socioeconomic factors.

Doctoral researcher in Infectious Disease Modelling, University of Sussex

Subject: Toward global estimates of spatial and temporal transmission of Chagas disease

Objectives: to develop global geostatistical models of the risk of Chagas disease transmission using machine learning algorithms and sets of environmental predictors and then validate them using cross-validation.
