Originally from Brazil, Louise Elali completed BAs in both Communications and Psychology in her home country, before getting her Masters in Global Visual Communication in Germany. She has previous experience in marketing and social media management, publishing, TV production and radio.

She is currently working on her PhD at University of Sussex. The working title is: "International Students: Education, Media and Identity in the Digital Age".

Supervisors: Kate O'Riordan and Barbara Crossouard.


Louise is a PhD Candidate in the School of Media, Film and Music at University of Sussex.

Her research interests are transdisciplinary and usually transit around ideas of identity, representation, and digital culture.

She is a SAGE/Hive Scholar, and Excursion's General Editor.

She co-organizes the Doctoral Research in Progress series for the School of Media, Film and Music. She was one of the co-organisers of MFM's Doctoral Conference 2019.
