Biography

Dr Darcy Leigh is currently a Teaching Fellow in Law where she co-ordinates the School of Law, Politics and Sociology's contribution to the Social Sciences Foundation Year. This includes convening the module 'Order and Disorder: Understanding Law, Politics and Sociology', as well as developing innovative approaches to widening participation, transitional pedagogy and accessibility (in collaboration with colleagues accross the university). Dr Leigh also teaches decolonial and queer legal perspectives for Sussex Law School. 

Dr Leigh completed her PhD in Politics at the University of Edinburgh in 2015. Her thesis won the British International Studies Association's 2015 prize for 'best thesis'. She has previously been a Teaching Fellow and/or Research Assistant at the Universitiy of Edinburgh, University of Ottawa and University Alberta. Dr Leigh has also worked as a facilitator, researcher and/or consultant with decolonial higher education projects Dechinta Centre for Research and Learning and the Akitsiraq Law School, as well as in the equalities and policy sectors in Scotland.
