Biography

Alex joined Sussex Drug Discovery Centre in October 2016 following over 5 years working in the pharmaceutical industry. After achieving his Masters in Medicinal Chemistry at the University of Leeds Alex Joined the Novartis Institute of Biomedical Research, initially working on hit to lead medicinal chemistry projects before joining the Parallel Chemistry team designing and synthesising focused chemical libraries for Novartis projects worldwide. In 2015 Alex joined AMRI, working on behalf of Eli Lilly synthesising lead compounds for a number of medicinal chemistry Projects.

Alex’s interests lie in drug discovery, medicinal chemistry, organic synthetic chemistry as well as utilising in silico tools and automated systems for compound design and synthesis.
