Biography

After completing my Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Adelaide, Australia in 2007, I moved to the University of New South Wales, Australia in 2008 to complete my Honours degree in Chemical Sciences in the area of group 13 halohydrides. I continued my Ph.D. studies at the same institution under the supervision of Assoc. Professor Marcus L. Cole investigating the stereoelectronic properties of halogenated N-heterocyclic carbenes and kinetically stabilised group 13 hydrides. In 2013 I took up my first PDRA position in the area of phosphine centred podand ligands for applications in nitrogen fixation chemistry under the supervision of Prof. Leslie D. Field, AM. In early 2016 I moved to the UK to take a position as a Research Fellow in the lab of Dr Ian R. Crossley working on organometallic cyaphide chemistry.

Role

I currently work in the lab of Dr Ian Crossley as a Research Fellow on a EPSRC funded project title “Linearly Conjugated Phosphacarbon Organometallics”. I am involved in the synthetic development and subsequent investigations into 'cyaphide' organometallic complexes.
