Research interests: Corporate Governance, Corporate Social Responsibility, Multinational Corporations, Company Law, Corporate Law Theory, Human Rights & Business and African Union Law.

Femi Amao is leading a pioneering research on the concept of African Union Law (AU Law). The project has recieved initial funding from Arts and Humanities Research Council. AU Law is currently underexplored and underdeveloped, yet has the potential to be ground-breaking with far reaching implications. This research initiative will explore the emergence of AU law as a new legal order and its implications for existing legal order in the region. The research is multidisciplinary, with insights from different disciplines including legal, historical, social, political, economic, sociological and anthropological dimensions.

His forthcoming book is ‘African Union Law’ to be published by Routledge in 2017.
