Ioannis joined Sussex Law School in October 2015 as a Lecturer in Employment Law. His primary research interest lies in the area of collective labour law (trade union law, collective bargaining law, industrial action law) and its analysis from a theoretical, international, constitutional, European and comparative perspective.

He holds an LL.B (First Class) from University of Athens , M.Jur, M. Phil in Law (Distinction) and D. Phil in Law from University of Oxford. His doctoral studies were funded by an Onassis Foundation Scholarship and an Arts and Humanities Research Council Doctoral Studentship. He has recently co-authored with Dr Aristea Koukiadaki the report 'Temporary contracts, precarious employment, employees’ fundamental rights and EU employment law'  for the European Parliament (commissioned by the Policy Department C at the request of the Petitions Committee of the European Parliament).
