Biography

I am a PhD student in the laboratory of Professor Wendy Brown whose research examines surface processes relevant to the interstellar medium (ISM).

I completed my undergraduate degree at the University of Bath and completed my Master’s project, entitled “The Application of Ultrasound to the Synthesis of Nanomaterials and Its Potential in Dental Treatments”, under the supervision of Professor Gareth Price.

I also undertook a Study Year Abroad as part of my undergraduate course and spent one year at L’Université de Bordeaux. Here is where my interest in astrochemistry began, whilst working with the COMEX Group on gas-phase reactions pertinent to the ISM. I submitted a project for this year entitled “A Low Temperature Kinetic Investigation of the Atom-Radical Reaction N + CCN → CN + CN”.

My professional development and research can be followed on Twitter, @StubbingScience.
