Biography

I currently work in the School of Psychology, supporting students and academic staff with enquiries and processes around curriculum and assessment. My focus is mainly on the School's undergraduate students.

I previously completed my PhD at Sussex, successfully defending my thesis in December 2021. My research was about the nature of democracy and the different practices which contribute to democratic decision making. I looked specifically at the National Food Security Act in India, a law which tried to deal with the serious and complex social problem of hunger and malnutrition. The project investigated how issues come to be important politically, how decisions are reached through processes of argumentation, and how people may come to be included or excluded from these processes.
