Research

I received an MSW and PhD from Arizona State University in the USA, where I was a practising clinical social worker, and worked specifically with sexually exploited and trafficked young people and adults. Research interests include child sexual exploitation and sex trafficking; developing & testing interventions that reduce trauma symptoms among survivors of exploitation and trafficking; groupwork and group-based interventions; mixed methodology. Recently, I have begun to focus on child’s-rights centred approaches to understanding and addressing child sexual exploitation in the UK, and am particulary interested in interdisciplinary research examining the police response to CSE in the UK.
