Jo's PhD is concerned with the regulation of international banking in the pre-Basel era with an emphasis on the management of the global financial system through inter-state collaboration at financial conferences and the informal cooperative practices of market participants.

More broadly, Jo's research interests lie in the area of domestic, European and international bank regulation with a particular focus on the role of club governance in the pre 1970s era and the changing approach to crisis management in the banking industry.

Jo is willing to supervise PhD's and welcomes applications from doctoral students who are interested in researching any of the above topics.
