Verona’s current research focuses on the relationship between criminal law and cultural diversity and in partiuclar on exploring and revisiting the gender equality and cultural diversity debate in the context of recent reforms to the law on FGM.

Verona's other research interest lies in the relationship between law and language. She is particularly interested in challenging gaps between the normative justifications advanced for language protection and the realisation of language rights and legislative regimes in practice.

Verona is willing to supervise doctoral research in the area of (or related to) cultural identity, language rights, criminal law and cultural diversity and FGM.
