My research interests are interdiscilinary. I am interested in work on queer theory and anthropology; intimacies and socio-economic transformations - globally; anthropological perspectives on gender and sexual difference - especially in respect of ethnographic work in Inida; anthropological perspectives as applied to international work in HIV prevention, sexual rights and health - involving for example work with UN agencies; sex work - most recently involving research with male sex workers in Southern and Eastern Africa; Same-sex sexualities, development and rights - most recently involving research in Nepal.

I am especially interested in collborative anthropological approaches, which has most recently involved photographic work with people of transgender and same-sex sexual experience in India and Nepal. The web-site showcases some of this work.
