Oliver Lewis Hall is a doctoral student in Sociology at the University of Sussex.

He studied Sociology at the University of Portsmouth until 2010. In 2009, he spent the second year of his undergraduate studies at Minnesota State University Moorhead in the United States. In 2012, he came to Sussex to complete an MA in Social and Political Thought.

The indicative title of his thesis is 'A Virtual Cosmopolitan Ethics: A Sociocognitive Analysis of a Global Ethics as emerging from Environmental Discourses of Overpopulation'. The project seeks to analyse the potential of online environmental fora to cultivate discursive cosmopolitan spaces whereby a global ethics emerges, sociocognitively, from dialogical negotiations of collective-identity, solidarity and co-responsibility.
