Role
Alison’s teaching focus is on management and leadership. Her teaching research is focused on the use of team based learning to increase student engagement and outcomes in Higher Education. Prior to joining Sussex Business School in 2015, Alison worked at the International Study Centre at Sussex University where she led the financial and management accounting modules and taught on a number of management modules from Foundation to Pre-Masters level from 2010.
Since 1994, Alison has taught in colleges in both the USA and South London. She has run initiatives such as Business Enterprise and Business Link initiatives. In addition to this she has commercial experience at KPMG and the NHS (as a trainer).
Alison’s other main area of research is the impact of gender violence upon employment and the workplace.
Alison is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA), a Certified Management and Business Educator (CMBE) and is a member of the Equalities and Diversity Committee of the University of Sussex Business School. She is also a member of the Team Based Learning Collaborative and the CIPD.
