Biography

Dr Helena Harder completed a MSc in Psychology (specialisation Neuropsychology) at Utrecht University. She went onto to work as a Psychologist in the Netherlands for many years combining clinical practice and academic research. She was awarded a PhD from the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at the Erasmus University Rotterdam in 2007 after a 4-year study funded by the Dutch Cancer Society. This research focused on the cognitive side-effects of cancer treatment for haematological malignancies, including bone marrow and stem cell transplantation. She moved to Nepal for 3 years where she was involved in developing an admission procedure for the MBBS program at Patan Academy of Health Sciences in Kathmandu. In 2009 she came to the UK to continue her work in academic research, and she joined Brighton and Sussex Medical School in 2010 as a Research Fellow at Sussex Health Outcomes Research and Education in Cancer. Dr Harder was registered with the HCPC as Practitioner Psychologist (Clinical Psychology) in 2011.
