I completed my BA studies in English Language, Literature, and Culture at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in 2007. During the last year of my BA I worked as an English Language Teacher, but I quickly realised that I wanted to continue my academic development and I embarked on my first postgraduate study in English Literature and Culture, which I finished in 2009 (2-year, full-time program) at the same University (Aristotle University of Thessaloniki).

In 2009, I decided to move to the UK to do a second MA, this time in Film studies at the University of East Anglia, where I remained for a PhD (awarded in 2014). In order to pursue my doctoral research, which focused on women directors within art cinema, I was awarded funding from the faculty of Arts and Humanities at UEA. During my doctoral studies and until May 2015 I taught on various BA and MA film studies modules.

In September 2015 I joined the Film Studies group in the School of Media, Film, and Music at the University of Sussex, as a Teaching Fellow in Film Studies, and since July 2019 I am a Lecturer in Film Studies.

I am a Lecturer in Film Studies, and currently the School Research Ethics Officer for Film Studies.
