My research focusses mainly on the oxidative modification in amyloidgenic peptides/proteins and its role in misfolding/assembly process. My research uses a combination of many biophysical techniques and electron microscopy to investigate the role of dityrosine crosslinks (one of oxidative modification) in neurodegenerative diseases. Also, I am studying the inhibition of protein assembly using small molecule.

Some current research projects are outlined below:

  1. Structural characterisation of truncated tau.
  2. Inhibition the assembly of some amyloidgenic peptides/proteins using a small molecule.
  3. Explore the role of Dityrosine crosslinks in neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease.
