Research

My research is focused around chemical sensing, in both animals and machines, GPU acceleration of computational neuroscience methods, bio-mimetic robot controllers and hybrid computer-brain experimentation.

Current interests include (but are not restricted to):

  • Information processing in olfactory systems, in particular in insects
  • Machine learning methods for chemical sensing with electronic noses
  • GPU acceleration of computational neuroscience models (GPU enhanced neuronal networks - GeNN)
  • Hybrid computer-brain experimentation (Dynamic clamp software - StdpC)
  • Bio-mimetic controllers for autonomous robots (Brains-on-Board project)
