My research focuses on how infants and toddlers learn about the world around them – particularly language, but I am also an expert in categorisation. I started my career studying toddlers who are just beginning to learn how to name objects and combine words to communicate. It is an exciting time to see how their minds are working and how much they are learning each day. Recent studies have explored how preschool children learn words from storybooks and how young children remember the new words they are learning.
