I am a doctoral researcher under the supervision of Prof. Dora Duka and Dr. Michael Morgan and have an academic interest in substance misuse, in particular the effects of drugs of misuse on cognitions.
My current research focuses on alcohol and impulsivity. Previous work suggests that 'impulsivity' may consist of a number of independent subtypes and is not, as is popularly assumed, a single factor. I am working to dissociate the subtypes and better characterise impulsivity as a concept. Following this I will investigate the effects of alcohol on the impulsivity subtypes, with clinical implications for the treatment of alcohol dependence.
