Blerim has been awarded the Chancellor’s International Research Scholarship (CIRS) by University of Sussex for doctoral research within the Department of Politics. His research focuses on the impact of the EU accession process on the law-making and oversight functions of the national parliaments of potential EU candidate countries. Earlier, Blerim completed Master studies on European Politics at the University of Sussex. He holds a Bachelor degree on Political Science from University of Prishtina in Kosovo. Blerim has completed a professional training on Regulatory Impact Analysis at College of Europe in Bruges, Belgium.

Blerim has over 15 years of experience in parliamentary governance, democratization and environmental programmes at national and local level. Until recently, Blerim worked for UNDP on a capacity-building program for the Parliament of Moldova. Earlier, he has worked in parliamentary projects in Nauru, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, Trinidad and Tobago, and Palestine.

While working with the OSCE in Kosovo, Blerim provided legislative research support to numerous Parliamentary Committees during the review of draft laws. Moreover, he possesses expertise in parliamentary oversight mechanisms during EU accession process, reviewing laws, administrative reform and regional and international cooperation.
