Biography

Sam is a Lecturer in Operations Management and teaches in the areas of Operations and Supply Chain Management. Sam completed his PhD at Alliance Manchester Business School in the area of supplier involvement in eco-innovation development, using an in-depth case study of Rolls-Royce Plc.  Sam's research has been funded by an ESRC scholarship and a President's Doctoral Scholar award from the University of Manchester. He completed his MSc in Supply Chain Management at the Cranfield School of Management in 2010.  Sam has published on supplier involvement in eco-innovation development in the Journal of Cleaner Production, the Apple Business Model in Accounting Forum and on supply chain segmentation in the International Journal of Logistics; Research and Applications. Sam also brings with him 15 years of industry experience in the field of supply chain and logistics. His most recent role was with adidas where he was responsible for the set up and day to day running of adidas’ London 2012 Olympics warehouse. This posed the challenge of receiving, storing and distributing 8.5 million units of stock for Team GB athletes, volunteers, and consumers during the London Olympic Games. Prior to this role Sam worked in a variety of positions including as a consultant on a large supply chain improvement project in Romania and as a logistician for Medecins Sans Frontieres in Liberia
