Julia convenes the Dissertation module on the MA in Education and the Action Research module on the MSc in Social Research Methods. She also teaches on a range of programmes, including PGCE: English, BA in Primary Education; MA in International Education and Development; and the MA and BA in Childhood and Youth, in addition to supervising doctoral students.

2014-15 Outstanding Support for the Learning Experience of Students (Student-led Teaching award)

2006 Excellence in Teaching (University Teaching Award)

2004 Vice-Chancellor’s Award for Curriculum Innovation (creating a new, interdisciplinary BA in English Education Studies to enable working Teaching Assistants in schools from non-traditional academic backgrounds to progress to become English teachers. A widening participation initiative.)
