Research

My doctoral research was a longitudinal exploration of the transition of young people with autism as they left special school to go on to mainstream further education colleges using collages, card sorts and walking interviews as methods. Other research interests include:

  • autism
  • special educational needs and disabilities
  • inclusive education and pedagogy
  • learning difficulties
  • transitions for young people with disabilities across education phases and into work, training and adulthood
  • methodologically interested in creative methods, visual methods and imaginative approaches to research

I would be interested to receive doctoral applications in any of the above areas.

Recent Research Projects include:

  • Inclusive Education Teacher Training in Uganda: International Consultancy/Research Services with Sightsavers UK and Uganda (2016-21):
  • Overcoming Barriers to participation in Higher Education for the Sussex Learning Network (2016-17)
