Biography

I am interested in the psychological and biological processes that contribute to appetite control, and how to establish and maintain heathy eating.

Role

In my current role as Research Fellow  I am working on a BBSRC funded grant with Professor Martin Yeomans examining how beliefs about food influence behavioural and physiological satiety responses. Please go here for further information.

Previous research

From September 2008 to January 2010 I worked at the Health Behaviour Research Centre, University College London as a Research Associate investigating the impact of rewards on children's healthy eating.

From 2005-2008 I conducted my PhD research at the University of Sussex, supervised by Professor Martin Yeomans. My work examined the psychology and gastrointestinal physiology associated with the tendency to overeat.

This PhD research was sandwiched between two BBSRC funded positions as Research Assistant and Research Fellow, both investigating the role of learning in food preferences.

Qualifications

2009 PhD in Experimental Psychology, University of Sussex

2003 BSc in Neuroscience, University of Sussex
