News in Brief

The Student Employment Office and the USIS team have joined forces and set up a new scheme designed to improve the quality of the Sussex Website and to assist Sussex students looking for a career in internet development. The scheme allows students to apply for USIS 'accredited' status. They will work closely with the USIS team, following guidelines to ensure all new pages look good, download quickly and are accessible to all audiences. Sections of the University who wish to update their web pages can contact the Student Employment Office (SEO) and request a USIS 'accredited' web developer. Potential employers wishing to update their web presence should contact SEO on (67)8146. Any students who would like to become USIS 'accredited' should email usis@sussex.ac.uk.

Teaching timetable on the web: From August 2000 the teaching timetable will be available on the web only. It will be updated daily and will be available externally (not restricted to the campus network only), providing a reliable and up-to-date resource. It can be found at http://www.susx.ac.uk/Units/sso/teaching/.

Do you use BIDS ISI?

From 31 July 2000 BIDS ISI will be discontinued and the Web of Science (WoS) alone will provide access to the following databases:

  • The Arts and Humanities Citation Index
  • The Science Citation Index
  • The Social Sciences Citation Index
  • The Index to Scientific and Technical Proceedings
