Another piece of treasure to add to the trove of the University's art collection has been unveiled. Retrieved from a skip in the loading bay at EDB, the piece is a pop art print bought by the University in 1969. Entitled Flag, it is one of a limited edition of 19 silkscreen prints created by local artist Harvey Daniels in 1968. The University bought it for 16 guineas (16 pounds 16 shillings).
The artist still works in Brighton, and his more recent works are currently on show in the Fiveways Open Houses exhibition. Simon Lane (pictured right), who is tracking down the missing pieces of the University's art collection, is delighted with the find.
