Summer Graduation

Over 1500 students and their families will gather in the Brighton Centre on 13 July for this summer's graduation ceremonies. Students from EURO, EAM, CCS, CCE CPES and ENGG will graduate at the morning ceremony which starts at 10.15 am. Those from SOC, AFRAS, CLS, COGS, BIOLS, SMS and Roffey Park will graduate at the afternoon ceremony starting at 3.00 pm.

In the morning, the honorary degree of Doctor of Science will be awarded to Professor Claude Cohen-Tannoudji, Professor of Atomic and Molecular Physics at the College de France in Paris. Professor Cohen-Tannoudji has made major contributions to the understanding of the interactions between atoms and light and was the co-laureate of the 1997 Nobel Prize for Physics. At the afternoon ceremony, the honorary graduand will be Dr George H Poste, the Chief Science and Technology Officer at SmithKline Beecham and an internationally-recognised expert in genetics and cancer.
