Represent Sussex as an NUS delegate

Do you want to make change on a national level? Do you want to represent your university at the largest conference of students in Europe? Now you can, by running to be an NUS delegate for Sussex.

Conference delegates attend and vote on behalf of Sussex at National Union of Students’ conferences. Travel and accommodation costs are covered by the Union for all elected delegates to each of the NUS conferences.

Students will be electing delegates to six NUS conferences.

The NUS National Conference sets policy for the organisation for the year ahead in five key areas: Welfare, Higher Education, Further Education, Society and Citizenship, and Union Development. They also set the NUS’ budget for the year. A total of 1,500 student delegates attend the National Conference each year, which is taking place from 27-29 March in Glasgow.

The NUS also have five conferences for minority groups: LGBT+ students, women students, trans students, disabled students, and black students. These are opportunities for student activists from across the country to meet and set the direction of NUS’ campaigns for each of these groups and elect their officers and committees.

If you want to represent Sussex on a national platform, nominate yourself before 12noon on 12 February. Elections for NUS delegates will take place from 20-23 February.
