Fundamentals of Teaching & Learning in Higher Education

Whether you’re looking to start teaching or to gain recognition for your teaching experience, Fundamentals is designed to give you the core skills, methodologies and confidence essential for good teaching at university level. It can also support you in gaining a nationally recognised teaching accreditation in the process.

Fundamentals is a 15-credit Masters-level module. It provides the mandatory training for those with less than three years teaching experience in HE who are taking on teaching at the University. It is also open to researchers and other University staff who want to teach or continue their professional development.

Fundamentals is also accredited by the Higher Education Academy, allowing people with HE teaching experience to gain Associate Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy.

Groups run throughout the year, with the first group starting Monday 2 September.
