Central Sussex College

The University of Sussex acts as the validating authority for the following teacher training programmes taught at the College:

  • Certificate in Education (DTLLS)
  • Professional Graduate Certificate in Education (DTLLS)

The following Foundation Year programme for degree entry to the University of Sussex is taught at the College:

  • Computing Sciences

This route to a Sussex degree is particularly suitable for strong mature candidates whose background would otherwise require them to take an Access course before university study, and for candidates whose A-level results do not meet their UCAS offers, as an alternative to A-level retakes.

The initial year (Year 0) of this degree programme is taught by Central Sussex College. The subsequent three years are taught at the University of Sussex.

The Foundation Year provides introductory courses on topics such as study skills and organisation skills, as well as basic mathematics and computing topics.

While you are studying at a local college, you are a full member of both the relevant college and the University of Sussex, with access to University facilities.
