Notice of Election of one member of academic staff from the School of History, Art History and Philosophy to Senate to serve until 31 July 2014

No nominations were received by the deadline and the VC will therefore appoint a member of the School to Senate, in line with Regulation 4.

This notice is to announce the election of one member of the academic staff from the School of History, Art History and Philosophy to Senate to serve for a two-year period from 1 August 2012 to 31 July 2014. This election is caused by the end of the tenure of Professor Saul Dubow.

Eligibility

Provision is made for two members of the academic staff to be elected to Senate by and from the academic staff of each School of Studies.

In accordance with the relevant Regulations, the following members of the School’s academic staff are eligible to nominate, be nominated and vote in this election:

Lecturers, Senior Lecturers, Readers and Professors.

The electorate will be the members of the School’s academic staff as defined above on the census date of Monday 14 May 2012.

Election procedure

Nominators should check that their nominee is willing and eligible to serve. Self-nomination is permissible.

Completed forms must be returned to Alice Robertson (Governance Officer, Sussex House Room 325 or by email to A.Robertson@sussex.ac.uk) by 12 p.m. on Monday 28 May 2012.

Each Nomination Form received will be acknowledged. Ballot papers will be issued if necessary after the closing date for nominations together with details of the voting procedure. The result of the election will be announced on this page.
