Top marks for teacher training At Sussex

Trainee teachers at the University of Sussex receive an excellent start according to the latest Ofsted (Office for Standards in Education) inspection.

Both music and English secondary post graduate certificate in education (PGCE) programmes at the University's Institute of Education were awarded the highest possible grades for the quality of training and the accuracy and consistency of the assessment of trainees for Qualified Teacher Status.

Pat Drake, director of Initial Teacher Education at Sussex, says: "It just goes to show what a good place Sussex is for training teachers in English and music as well as the six other subjects we offer."

There are still a few places available on the music programme, which starts on 17 September.
