Book now for the University's general election debate for the Brighton Pavilion seat
As the 8 June general election approaches, the University of Sussex, the Students' Union and the Institute of Development Studies are preparing a series of election debates involving local candidates.
The first debate, focusing on the Brighton Kemptown constituency, took place on 17 May. The next event is taking place on Wednesday 24 May from 6.00pm to 7.30pm in the large Jubilee lecture theatre.
The candidates attending this event on Wednesday are:
- Caroline Lucas (Green)
- Solomon Curtis (Labour)
- other candidates TBC
There will be an opportunity during the evening for the audience to ask questions when invited to do so by the Chair.
Vice-Chancellor, Adam Tickell, said: “I’m looking forward to welcoming the Brighton Pavilion candidates, students, staff and members of our local community to our next general election debate.
“It’s always exciting to see democracy in action and we’ll be doing all we can over the coming weeks to make it easier for people to engage in the democratic process.”
