The Careers and Employability Centre is on the search for the three best Sussex Plus ‘webfolios’ of 2013.
Using Sussex Plus, you can create a webfolio - an online e-portfolio to showcase the skills gained in your academic, personal, voluntary or work life.
With a unique link, you can share your webfolio with anyone: potential employers, academic staff, family and friends.
Currently more than 4,000 students have registered with Sussex Plus. Having an online profile has helped them to stand out from the crowd in selection processes - resulting in employment opportunities, funding for courses and new connections.
One student commented: “I like my webfolio because it is a private, secure place to showcase what you’ve done and give a little edge to your CV. Employers like to know about you! I've put the link atop all of my CVs and covering letters and in my email signature.”
Now the Careers and Employability team are encouraging everyone to have a go at creating a webfolio. To make it more accessible, there is a template that can be downloaded and easily personalised.
If you need a helping hand and would like to arrange a 1:1 tutorial, email sussexplus@sussex.ac.uk to arrange a time that fits in with your timetable. Tutorials take place in the Careers and Employability Centre in the Library.
To enter your webfolio or to find out more about how to create one and enter the competition, visit the competition web page.
Three students who enter webfolios will be selected to appear in University promotional material and will also receive a £100 shopping voucher each.
The deadline for submission of webfolios is Thursday 25 April.
