30 credits, Level 6

Spring teaching

You will critically explore public relations (PR) as a strategic communication function, and discusses its role in contemporary societies. You'll evaluate key concepts and debates in this discipline and it assesses real examples of PR campaigns.

You'll also gain practical experience in planning public relations campaigns, based on a real life brief.

Weekly seminars may involve:

  • hands-on practice in designing and evaluating a communications campaign
  • analysing case studies
  • participating in class debates
  • contributions by experienced PR industry guest speakers.

You will build on your communication and report-writing skills, identify solutions to communication problems, and develop an in-depth, critical understanding of public relations theory and practice.
