Sponsored and run by the School of Media, Film and Music (University of Sussex), this event will bring together academics, lawyers and industry experts to discuss the inquiry that has shaken the British (and international) journalism industry, and which was launched in thewake of the News of The World phone-hacking scandal.
This symposium will address two key issues: 
- The role of regulation in fostering journalism in the public interest.
- The contribution of academia/professional education to journalism in the public interest.
