School of Law, Politics and Sociology

Programmes

The School of Law, Politics and Sociology offers a wide array of undergraduate and postgraduate taught programmes, as well as opportunities for postgraduate research. We pride ourselves on programmes and courses that are not only intellectually rigorous and rewarding, but which will give you the opportunity to study issues and developments that are of topical concern under the guidance of tutors who are nationally and internationally recognised for the quality of their teaching and research.

As a School we believe in the value of interdisciplinarity, and this is reflected in the range of joint and minor programmes that we offer as well as in the content and teaching of courses. Several programmes enable you to study abroad or to include languages as part of your degree. We also actively encourage an outward-looking approach to study with many courses focused upon European, international and comparative material. Whatever your interest, from health care to international financial regulation or from European integration to the culture of celebrity you will find the opportunity in our programmes to pursue theoretical and practical approaches to contemporary issues.

We are a friendly School with a strong sense of community and students from a wide range of educational and cultural backgrounds. Whether you wish to study law, politics or sociology we are confident that you will develop a range of intellectual, practical and personal skills in a stimulating and enjoyable environment.

The School of Law, Politics and Sociology consists of the following three Departments:
