Two student representatives from the School of Law, Politics and Sociology have been recognised in the Students’ Union’s new Reputation Scheme.
Nicola Lodge (Year 2 Sociology) and Adam Akbar (Year 2 Law) received gold and silver awards for their work as student representatives – or ‘reps’, as they are known.
Undergraduate and postgraduate student reps from each school and year of study are elected by students to represent their views and interests.
Since January 2015, reps have been given the opportunity to develop their skill set and receive rewards for their work, as part of the Reputation Scheme.
The Scheme allows reps to earn points throughout the year by taking part in activities and development opportunities, as well as providing evidence of how they have worked to improve conditions for students.
Following the calculation of points in the spring term, reps with the most points receive a gold, silver or bronze award, with gold and silver award winners receiving a high-street shopping voucher for their efforts.
Nicola and Adam are two of 20 student reps who were recognised in the Scheme.
More information about the Reputation Scheme is available on the Students’ Union website.
