Politics students at Sussex can claim free tickets to the upcoming Sussex Conversation event, ‘State of the Nation’, to mark this year’s General Election.
The event, which will be chaired by Sarah Montague of BBC Radio 4’s Today programme, is set to include an all-party panel with representatives from the Conservatives, Labour, Liberal Democrats, UKIP and the Green Party.
As Election Day approaches, attendees will have the opportunity to listen and participate in debate surrounding a range of topical issues – among them the National Health Service, education, immigration, free speech and security – before tucking into drinks and canapés after the discussion.
Tickets, usually priced at £10, are available for free for Politics students. An email with full instructions has been sent to the Sussex email accounts of eligible students, who are advised to follow the enclosed guidelines to redeem their ticket.
Students unable to attend are still invited to participate in the discussion on Twitter using the hashtag #sussexconvo.
The Sussex Conversation ‘State of the Nation’ Special takes place at the Royal Institution of Great Britain, London, on 14 April 2015, at 6pm.
More information about the event can be found on the University's Event pages.
