On Monday 11 March a prominent group of Sussex academics, almuni and future students, as well as practitioners, participated in a high profile session in the UK embassy in Beijing, China.  The event was co-hosted by the University of Sussex's Centre for the Study of Corruption (SCSC) and Renmin University of China's Law School, with Professor Chris Marlin (Sussex) chairing a roundtable on issues of corruption and anti-corruption in the UK in China. 

Professor Dan Hough, Director of the SCSC, and Professor He Jiahong, Professor of Evidence Law at Renmin, each spoke at length, before a wide ranging discussion too place on the challenges that anti-corruption scholars and activists currently face. The discussion touched on issues ranging from the 2008/09 UK MPs' expenses scandal to Chinese Premier Xi Jinping's current anti-corruption drive and further illustrated that Sussex SCSC will have more than enough to keep it busy over the coming months and years.

The event is the first of a number that Sussex and Renmin will be collaborating on, with the next likely to take place in the Autumn 2013.
