Sussex biologist elected to Academia Europaea

Laurence Pearl, Professor of Structural Biology and Head of the School of Life Sciences, has been elected as a member of the Academia Europaea – whose 2,300 membership of “eminent scholars” covers the natural sciences, humanities and letters. Membership is by invitation only, following a peer-review selection process.
Professor Pearl is already a Fellow of the Royal Society (FRS), a Fellow of the Academy of Medical Sciences and an elected member of the European Molecular Biology Organisation (EMBO).
